Rapid quantitation heavy metals in food -HS XRF with Fast FP
2020-02-12 16:13:08

• Application Overview

The contents of lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic and chromium in food affect human health. Every country and region has strict restrictions on their contents. Normally the measure methods for  heavy metals in the food have AA、ICP-MS and so on. These methods, for example ICP-MS, are complex, time-consuming and high-cost, which cannot meet the demands for the rapid detection of the heavy metals in the food.

The high sensitivity XRF heavy metal analyzer of the PHECDA series adopts the monochromatic focusing excitation technology, which greatly reduces the background interference of the scattered rays generated by the X-ray tube, improves the intensity of the elements' fluorescence rays, and reduces the limit of detection of the heavy metals in the food matrix to 0.06mg/kg level, so as to meet the requirements of the supreme limit value detection of the heavy metals in the food.

The Fast FP method interprets the physics theory of the various effects including the X-ray generation, excitation of the sample elements fluorescence, and the various effects detected by the detector into the mathematical models. Through large amount calculation and calibration using a few standard samples, the quantitative analysis of the sample elements can be completed. Fast FP method calculates the background difference caused by the difference of the sample matrix, so expand the testing range of food.

The combination of a high-sensitivity XRF heavy metal analyzer and Fast FP fills in the blank of the current fast detection methods of the heavy metal for the aquatics, meat, vegetables, and fruits, improves detection efficiency, and escorts the food safety.
