Analysis of Trace Heavy Metals in Environmental Water Quality
2020-02-16 15:05:13

Application Overview

       Water is the source of life. without human-induced pollution, the content of heavy metals in water which mainly depends on the interaction between water and materials such as soil and rocks, is generally low and is not hazardous to human health. However, with the development of industry, a surge of industry-related activities such as mining scour, industrial and mining wastewater, domestic sewage being discharged without proper treatment, waste accumulation site being affected by the flow of water and the input of heavy metal-rich atmospheric sediments, all of them have led to a sharp increase of heavy metal content in water. And the quality of water is deteriorating seriously. As we all know, heavy metals are not easy to decompose in the water. Instead, they are easily enriched in the body of plants and animals, and further enter into the human body through the food chains, threatening the human health seriously.

       Due to the disadvantages of large instrument volume, tedious operation, and long detection cycle, the analysis of the laboratory method is hardly used for fast monitoring of the heavy metals on the spot. At present, a fast and accurate analysis of heavy metals in water based on the portable high-sensitivity XRF combined with the technology of Heavy Metal Enrichment Tablet (HMET®) has been proposed by Beijing Ancoren Wisdom Technology Co.,LTD, which has the advantages of portability, simple sample processing, fast analysis speed, ultra-low detection limit, and high precision, and provides a reliable solution for the detection of heavy metals in various water.

• Application Features

1)Ultra-low Method Detection Limit
       The Monochromatic-wavelength excited XRF with double curved crystal as its core, significantly reduces the background of scattered rays and improves the signal-to-noise ratio, and further enhances the capabilities for heavy-metal detection by using of the technology of HMET, The Method Detection Limits of As, Pb and Cd in water reach 1 ~ 2ug / L;

2)Wide adaptability
       Heavy metal detection can be applied to a variety of water quality such as surface water, groundwater, corporate sewage, drinking water, etc.

3)High accuracy
       Consistency analysis with the laboratory standard methods can be obtained.

4)Portability
       PHECDA-PRO weighs 9.7 kg, which has excellent portability, and it can work within -10 ℃ ~ 40 ℃ ,which shows the strong environmental adaptability.

5)Rapidity
       Quantitative analysis of heavy metals in water from sample processing to detection can be completed in 10 minutes.
